Call for Public Art Interns : Listening to Mitchell
Collaborative team Thomsen&Carr are looking for interns for their next public art project. Listening to Mitchell (listeningtomitchell.wordpress.com) is a site-specific temporary public art project including audio installation, text, and photographic murals, coming May 2014. Interns for Listening to Mitchell have an opportunity to work on the production and logistics of a complex eight-block installation along Historic Mitchell Street on Milwaukee’s south side. Selected interns will work directly with artists Sonja Thomsen and Adam Carr as they move forward in research and development. Candidates must be highly detail-oriented, organized and professional in their communication.
We are looking for 1-3 interns that can contribute one or more of the specific skills:
- spanish fluency and translation
- video editor
- blog and social media coordinator
All interns will be involved in a wide variety of tasks associated with the production of Listening to Mitchell and at times be responsible for research, transcription, installation, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
– Based in Milwaukee, WI
– Junior or Senior level
– Computer and internet access
– Available 10-15 hours/week
– Proactive
– Flexible schedule
– Organized
– Efficient communicator
