During the field trip, students traveled the world — by foot — on Mitchell Street. They’ve been studying cultures throughout the school year, so they were ready — from Anmol Restaurant (Pakistan) to Mr. Diaz’s immigration story (Columbia) to Think Resale’s owner Dimity (Australia) to AP Foods (India) to Lopez Bakery (Mexico) and beyond.
Dimity, proprietor of Think Resale, answers students questions about her store as well as homeland of Australia
Pausing for a quick lesson on Garden of Eden, AP Groceries, Think Resale, Mitchell Mall, and Taso’s
Jorge gives the third graders a behind-the-scenes peak of his bakery’s kitchen and explains how he uses fractions everyday
In Lopez Bakery with Jorge and Mr. Diaz’s third grade class, learning about the many animal shapes of their pastries
And of course, a taste test — the end of our world tour on Mitchell street was a taste of Mexico
Back to Allen-Field we go
