At Allen-Field Elementary, we’ve been working with 2nd and 3rd grade students to analyze/photograph objects, as well as develop/ask questions, both with classmates and adults in their lives. The students have also extended the project into their homes, conducting interviews around stories of immigration — many students are engaging family members in these kinds of conversations for the first time. The stories that come out in class have been consistently compelling and oftentimes challenging.
We are grateful to explore and learn alongside the students.
